2009 HIT-GTA Executive Board Newsletter
Dear Alumni,
Time flies. It has been another year and it is another time to celebrate and reflect. For us, HIT-GTA, 2008 has been a year of growth. Not only did we gain with the number of alumni (now over 300) in our HIT-GTA alumni directory, but also have we gained recognition and extended our influences through involvements with many local and international activities.
We have reached out to local communities. To celebrate the 2008 Chinese New Year, we contributed and co-organized a party with the newly formed Hei Long Jiang Association on the 9th of February.
We have also reached back to China. We helped Wuxi Huishan municipal government to organize an Investment Environment Seminar on the 6th of March in Sheraton Center Toronto.
We have expanded our reach-back to the victims during Si Chuan’s earthquake in May. We called for donation to our sisters and brothers through our HIT-GTA network and also through our individual’s work place.
With these achievements, we also celebrated ourselves with the pride. We had so much fun at the annual summer picnic in Earl Bales park on the 24th of August. The entire event was reported by Fairchild Television Talentvision Chinese channel and was then broadcasted later on (please let us know if any of you have taped it). Since our website (www.hit-na.org) is under renovation, we have created another HIT-NA Alumni website on facebook.com so that you can still view many photos taken from this event.

We have reached back again to HIT and HIT Shenzhen Alumni Association in Oct to seek potential collaboration opportunities.
With the start of the new year, we wish you and your families a fruitful year ahead in 2009. There is no occasion more appropriate than this to acknowledge that your loyalty and commitment are the foundation of our success. For this and more I say thank-you and happy new year.

尊敬的各位校友，
时间如梭，又是一年过去了。请让我代表校友会组委会感谢一年来您们对我们工作的支持，并向您们和家人表示新春的祝福。在新旧更迭之际，请让我先向您们汇报一下这一年来的主要工作。
1. 二月九号协助刚成立的黑龙江同乡会举办了春节联欢会。
2. 三月六号协助无锡市惠山区创业推介会的宣传工作。
3. 从五月份开始号召校友们自己及工作的单位募集四川地震捐款。
4. 八月二十四日，一年一度的夏季野餐会又一次成功的举办，并得到了城市电视中文台的全程采访及报道。活动照片登录在 facebook.com 的 HIT-NA Alumni http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1091198415#/group.php?gid=3270957...
5. 更新及发布了中英文校友通讯录。
6. 十月及十一月初，侯明回母校与校友总会讨论工作后，又赴深圳与深圳校友会探讨合作事宜。
7. 组委会成员张冠松退役。让我们为他多年来无私的奉献表示感谢和敬意。
8. 组委会欢迎和感谢吕哲博士的加入。并希望有更多的志愿者加入。
9. 目前正计划下一次的组委会会议。
由于我们组委会成员绝大多数家中都有年幼的孩子，只能在大家繁忙的学习，工作，和生活之余，努力来更好地服务大家。所以希望有更多的校友加入我们的行列。志愿者请发email到 hit-gta@googlegroups.com与我们联系。
